Lan Xu, CNM
Lan Xu, CNM, she likes to go by Kate, joined Arizona Maternity and Women’s Clinic in April 2021. She graduated from Georgetown University with a Masters of Science in Nursing in 2019. She moved to Arizona to fulfill her dream to work as a nurse midwife.
Kate’s passion in women’s health growth from her personal and professional experiences. She attended Johns Hopkins University for her nursing degree where she was first introduced to midwifery through her CNM professors. The holistic care model of midwifery and the idea of “midwifes partner with women to help make important health decisions” inspired her to pursue a career in becoming a midwife herself. She has various experiences working with women in different health care settings as a birth companion, in WIC program, as a bedside nurse of five years at an oncology unit, and as a health educator in a university health center. She has a bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education. She is trilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin Chinese and English. She enjoys working with women from different cultures and backgrounds.
Kate loves spending time with her husband and cats, and enjoys yoga, hiking, and trying out new local restaurants in her free time.

I started going there a couple of weeks ago. Dr. Brar is absolutely wonderful! She explains things thoroughly and really takes time with her patients to make sure they understand. The staff is very friendly as well.
I love that Arizona Maternity has all female Providers from Nurse practitioners to Midwives! The staff is always friendly and helpful too which made my experience very nice.
